Sound created by me on audacity. It was recorded using my blue yeti microphone. All i did was take my wireless mouse and put it as close to my mic as possible. You don't have to do this, but i would like for you to tell me what its being used for if it is not too much trouble.

Recorded with a zoom h1 n. Waves lap gently against the sand shore, absorbed by tons of freshly strewn kelp. It is near a tide turn, so the wave action is relatively gentle. The sounds are more like lapping, and not crashing. It is a very gentle sound.

The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. Recorded in june 2016 on a hudson yards-bound 7 train in the new york city subway. Towards the end of the recording, at the last stop (34th street–hudson yards), there is mta thank you announcement at the station and for all passengers to alight - i have extracted this announcement as a separate audio download on freesound if that's the sound clip you're interested in!. Recorded with a zoom h2n in 4-channel mode - this is the xy recording only (msg me if you want the raw ms recording!), without a windshield. File has not been modified.

An Edison "Perfected" Phonograph cylinder recording of The Lost Chord (composed 1877) by Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900), played on piano and cornet. One of the earliest surviving recordings of music; was played at the press conference that introduced the phonograph to London on August 14 1888. Cuts off slightly before the ending of the song. The recorded version is somewhat abridged (a middle section has been cut, possibly due to time constraints). Overall a well-preserved example of wax cylinder recording technology. Length: 2:07

Wav-file recorded with the zoom h6 with stereo microphone. Recorded inside a staircase from a house from around the 1950s. A woman is walking down the stairs, passes the recorder and walks down to the cellar. You hear the keys in her hand and a car passing in the distance. She opens a door. At some point there is slight handling noise from holding the recorder. Bonny orbit sound library.

A stereo field recording of hundreds of several species of frogs at spring in raleigh, nc. Recorded at a very large concrete stormwater retention pond. The tall concrete walls made a nice effect acoustically. There are a few other faint sounds such as my dog walking around, a bit of wind and a car door as the pond was next to a parking garage. But, the frogs definitely dominate. I recorded this with an olympus ls-11.
